I’m not sure if the title of my post has anything to do with what I’m about to say. Perhaps, just a litttle bit. It’s been 5 months since I started earning my own keep. I was so painfully broke during my post-graduate days, that it was not even funny. My lowest points were looking for coins around my room and skipping dinners with friends because I simply could not afford it.

Things are quite different now. I save quite a bit, but, I’m also a bit of a spender. Maybe the pent-up shoppoholic within me has been unleashed, after having been oppressed for two long years under the watchful eye of my rational Super-ego, or at least that is what I choose to believe. I’ve been buying pretty things for my loved ones, and for myself. A couple of bags here, a couple of shoes there. Sometimes when I pass my card over the counter, I feel an immense sense of guilt that threatens to engulf me, and this is not a hyperbole.

Recently, something odd happened. I’m never one for labels & luxury items. I don’t see the value in Chanel, Prada or Louis Vuitton. And sorry, Fergie, but give me love anytime over labels. But 7 days back, I surfed onto Reebonz.com. It’s an online site based in Singapore which offers such fabulous discounts on branded darlings. I was never excited though, till I saw an upcoming sale event for Femme Sud. My. Oh. My. I did some research and fell hard. Head over heels. Infatuated. Lusted. I was gone. I saw the Brag Book. Oh my. What a gorgeous, little thing. I had never heard of the brand nor seen the clutch in my life. But I needed it.

To cut a long story short, the sale opened at 12.00 p.m. I had been clicking refresh since 11.30. I was the first to make a purchase at roughly 12.03 p.m. And ta-da. I had succumbed. One has to admit though, it isn’t about the label, but the utter quirky beauty of the clutch. A huge drawback was that it was lambskin. I wish I could talk more about this, but looks like I have to go on now and get started. The best I can do for now is to add a picture here, that I can randomly surf on and bask in its glory. : )

(can i also just say the clutch comes with a pretty coin purse that says “Trust Fund” and a Femme Sud Lipstick?)

Trying out this version of Phoeix and I must say, it is rather impressive. Not only does it alert an unauthorized user on your laptop, it sends a Twitter message to your account and an email with the location details of your MacBook (there’s a Windows version as well) and a video recording via iSight. It’s just so… strangely awesome. There were some glitches with the Twitter messages initially but Charlene from their sales department was quick and responsive and guided me through the process. After the theft of my phone, I’ve been guarding my MacBook with my life and am always paranoid, but Bak2U is definitely taking some weight off my shoulders. I’m thinking of getting their mobile versions now! Will be blogging more on this when I try out their other features. I’m still amazed.

Extremely delicious carrot cake birthday cake he had made for me, with the most delish frosting. Side story. He had bought the candles that spelt out “I heart you” but left it at his place because he was shy. I smuggled them in, and planted it on top of my cake. :) I think my family was touched. But not as touched as me.

I love him. And I am so so so blessed.
